Mostly because you were my first doctor. Because you introduced me to a whole new world that changed my life. Literally.
Maybe you’re not as cool as nine and ten (I love them too, if only a little less) but you’re more fun. And fantastic and bizarre and all kinds of wonderful too.
Also, Matt Smith plays him like nobody else. Because the Doctor is silly and amazing but still has a lot of darkness inside. And Matt lets us see glimpses of the desperation and the loneliness all the while being awkward, foolish and absurdly lovable.
